The H4P (Here for Perfection) Organization recently held a remarkable event in Teshie, Ghana, as part of their ongoing "Celebration of Love" project. This initiative, dedicated to supporting Persons with Disability (PWDs), was a heartwarming tribute to the late Mrs. Christina Anansewa Hackman, mother of H4P’s CEO, Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman.Mrs. Hackman was known for her lifelong dedication to the disability community, and this project aims to honor her legacy by continuing her work.
The Celebration of Love project is more than just an event; it is a testament to the enduring impact of Mrs. Christina Anansewa Hackman's life. Her boundless generosity and compassionate nature continue to inspire the H4P Organization's efforts. By organizing such events, the organization not only provides essential services to PWDs but also raises awareness about the importance of inclusivity and support for the disability community.
The latest edition of the Celebration of Love project took place on December 18, 2024, at the Fire City Chapel premises. It provided free medical assistance to the ‘Grow with God Cerebral Palsy and Disability Organization, Ghana,’ a group based in Teshie that includes persons with cerebral palsy, physical disabilities, the elderly, widows, and other vulnerable individuals and their caregivers. Medical teams offered general health screenings, eye exams, physiotherapy sessions, and hearing and ear cleaning services.
Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman emphasized the importance of showing love, care, and support for the vulnerable, virtues he learned from his late mother. He called on the government, civil societies, and stakeholders to accelerate efforts to build an inclusive society where disability matters are not an afterthought.
A counseling session followed, where accomplished PWDs shared their experiences and encouraged attendees. Speakers included Mr. Alexander Tetteh, Chairman of the Ghana Disability Forum; Mrs. Ellen Afam Dadzie, Founder and Executive Director of With God Cerebral Palsy, Ghana; Madam Farida Bedwei, Software Engineer and Co-Founder and CTO of Logiciel Ltd; and Dr. Mabel Oti-Boadi, Psychologist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana. They urged attendees to view their disabilities not as disadvantages but as opportunities to achieve their goals and dreams.
As the H4P Organization continues its Celebration of Love projects, it remains steadfast in its mission to bring dignity to disability. The success of the recent event is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when communities come together with compassion and dedication. The organization looks forward to expanding its reach and impact, ensuring that the legacy of love and support for PWDs continues to thrive.
