On 23rd June 2026, the H4P Organization proudly joined the Ghana Federation of Disability Organizations (GFD), Members of Parliament, government representatives, development partners, and disability advocates to commemorate Ghana’s National Day of Persons with Disabilities under the theme “From Act to Action; Finalising Reforms Now and Beyond.” Representing the H4P Organization at this important national engagement was Dolly Kafui Armah who was part of the delegates from the Disability Community at the Chamber of the Parliament of Ghana to advocate for stronger action on disability rights and inclusion in Ghana.

The commemoration served as a powerful reminder that while Ghana made a historic step with 20 years of the passage of the Persons with Disability Act, 2006 (Act 715), much more remains to be done. Persons with disabilities continue to face barriers in education, healthcare, employment, transportation, accessibility, and participation in national development.
In the statement made on behalf of the Disability Community by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Caucus on Disabilities, Deputy Minister for Education, Hon. Clement Abas Apaak first called for a disability law that is truly rights-based and enforceable. Secondly, a greater investment in education, particularly at the tertiary level and finally access to employment.
The message from the Disability Community was clear: “Persons with disabilities are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for equal opportunity”
